About Our Site

It is blessed to be Victorious.

The Victorious Opposition is an exciting blog on which a variety of intriguing topics of interest to Americans and people all over the world are analyzed and discussed daily; such as politics, foreign policy, technology, crime and law enforcement, and civil rights among others. The authors come from different areas of the United States, backgrounds, professions, and beliefs both spiritual and political; but all are patriots. Our goal is objectivity, thoroughness, relevancy, and accuracy in all of our posts and to always be on the cutting edge of unfolding stories using the most primary sources we can find and thoughtful, fair interpretations delivered with interesting, informative, and entertaining flair.

In this time of spin, hype, and glitz; it seems that the news of the day stands at odds with the truth. The real Victorious Opposition is the Truth, not the mere advancement of a partisan agenda.

Register with us today and remember: "It's fun to be opinionated, but it is blessed to be Victorious!"

About Our Founders

dwex is our resident geek - with an MBA. He works in the telecomm & internet industries, specializing in technology and product strategy, with an emphasis on digital media. Politically, dwex considers himself to be a centrist - a small-L libertarian. Tending to be both socially liberal and fiscally conservative, he often winds up debating with people at both ends of the spectrum. dwex was raised Jewish, and became a Christian in his senior year of high school. He is a vocal advocate of church/state separation, and sees no cognitive dissonance between religion and science/engineering. In his younger days, he was a volunteer Emergency Medical Technician for 10 years, and is currently addicted to World of Warcraft. His musical tastes tend towards progressive rock and instrumental expertise, but he has a diverse music collection & interests. He's an amateur guitar player, when he takes the time to practice.

Manwhore is not like you, he is a martian. Manwhore is our resident entertainer and off topic conversationalist, who gravitates towards current events, art and design, light politics, and social issues. Manwhore currently resides in Los Angeles, CA where he has a career as an Industrial Design Manager for a fortune 500 company. He is a graduate of Art Center College of Design majoring in Product/Entertainment Design with a minor in automotive design. No, Eddie Griffin is not his pimp.

Thrill is a lifelong conservative Republican, although he considers himself to be fairly liberal on most social issues. He lives in Missouri and has spent most of his life there, excepting his service as an enlisted man in the US Army Military Police Corps. He is married to Mrs Thrill and they have a young daughter we at the VO call "Thrilla". Thrill's education, experience, training, and passion have always been in Criminal Justice and currently, he is a branch security manager for a major US shipping company that you've probably heard of as well as a licensed private investigator. Thrill's favorite organizations include the Reid Institute, ASIS International, and the National Rifle Association. He is also a member of the Episcopal church, despite his upbringing in a very nutty New Age household. He's a voracious reader, particularly of history, warfare, current events, philosophy, and true crime.

About Our Authors

richtaylor (yes, his real name, go figure) is the resident elder statesman. He lives in a small town in the Bay Area with his wife (a practicing attorney, reinforcing the old adage “His better half”), and his 14 year old son. Rich retired from the California Highway Patrol a few years back where he did 27 years on the job. He worked both in Los Angeles and the Bay Area, doing road patrol, training officer, supervisor, and policy management. He now spends his days playing tennis, organizing tennis camps for kids in the area, and volunteers at his son’s school. He is an old school Reagan conservative, who believes that government should do a few things well, the supremacy for the rule of law, and the exceptionalism of the American spirit that was the true catalyst to our greatness as a nation. He is always on the lookout for a better argument and is willing to change course as the evidence requires. He is proud of his Christian faith and will always strive to be a better husband, father, and American.

zoomzoom is a politics junkie. He obtained his degree in Political Science, has managed and supported a number of local political campaigns and simply loves to learn more about the complex and unpredictable world of politics. He holds to a firm conservative political philosophy in both economic and social terms, and despite its failings, believes the Republican party is the best practical vehicle to advance conservative governing principles. He enjoys to debate and discuss, and will sometimes stake a position simply to explore a question or issue from different angles. You will find him posting mostly on political issues, though he's been known to take on other topics. He also compiles the VO's weekly Sunday Morning Roundup. zoomzoom is located in the Puget Sound region of Washington State--a place near and dear to his heart, where he works for a small-to-mid-sized engineering services firm and is active in his local community.
