Merry Christmas to all of you!  Despite the holiday, there was plenty to talk about this Sunday.  The foiled terrorist attack on American Airlines flight 253, from Amsterdam to Detroit, was the primary subject for the Sunday shows, as the Homeland Security Secretary and White House Press Secretary make the rounds.  Also, the status of health insurance reform legislation is another main topic.  And as the final Sunday of 2009, many shows take a look at the last year and look ahead to 2010.  Enjoy you Sunday Morning Roundup for December 27th, 2009:

This Week with George Stephanopoulos

On ‘This Week’, ABC News Senior White House Correspondent Jake Tapper filled in for George Stephanopolous (and did a bang-up job, if you ask me).  First on the program was Secretary of Homeland Security Janet Napolitano, who discussed the failed terrorist attack on Northwest flight 253.  Jake Tapper asked pointed questions about the government’s response and preparation for the attack.  Then, White House Press Secretary Robert Gibbs joined the program to follow up on the terrorist plot and discuss the progress of health insurance reform legislation.

Then, Senate Minority Leader Mitch McConnell joined the program to discuss the terror plot, health insurance reform and the Republican strategy for the 2010 election cycle.  Finally, the Roundtable segment features Ruth Marcus, David Brooks, Matthew Dowd and Paul Krugman.  Jake Tapper discussed homeland security policy, health care and prognostications for the 2010 election cycle.
